Chapter 9 Case assignment

 

Reflection

The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate my ability to create a new company within QuickBooks and effectively manage inventory, sales, customers, venders and other needs of a small business. Completing this assignment gave me the skills I need to be confident in QuickBooks from start to finish. Some of the skills I used in completing this assignment are listed below:
  • Ability to set up a new company
  • Utilize and customize the chart of accounts
  • Create Customers and lists with customers and job duties
  • Set up vender accounts and create item lists
  • Customize invoice templates according to the companies needs
  • Record transactions and deposits
  • Make adjusting entries as needed
  • Run financial reports including – General Ledger, profit and loss, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.
This assignment was very easy for me to tackle. In this course, I have built the confidence that will help me now and in the future to manage a small business using QuickBooks. I would have to say that this assignment was simple and easy to do. I enjoyed completing this assignment and I appreciate the skills I have learned from taking this course. I had previous experience with QuickBooks but it has been awhile since I have used the program. Many things have changed in QuickBooks and I like the way QuickBooks 2013 is setup. I will move forward towards my accounting degree with the knowledge of Accounting 1290.
